Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know if the WAAS helps out with very high application turns? We have an Oracle applicatoin that we're trying to run across the WAN but it runs super slow, even through the WAAS. The application runs really fast on the local LAN. The application turns are over a thousand.
Are there any tweakings that can be performed on the WAAS to work well with Oracle applications?
Thanks!

It's possible that in terms of performance, the application is latency-bound. What is the WAN bandwidth and latency in your environment? Is it possible for you to provide a packet capture for analysis?

Zach

Hi Zach,
Here is the network layout between the 2 locations. The app is hosted in Guatemala and is accessed by users in Rye. I'll email you the capture file from the client in Rye. I don't have any captures off of the WAAS due to the fact it's broken again in 4.1.5x, can't use the -R statement in tethereal.
Guatemala (Remote):
Hosted App - Oracle (25k application turns)
WAN - 4Mbps 122ms to Rye
WAAS - 1 WAVE-674 4.1.5a
WCCP - Forward/Return is GRE/hash and using WCCP Negotiated Return method
Rye,NY (Core):
WAAS - 2 WAE-7371 4.1.5a
WCCP - Forward/Return is L2/mask assigned and using WCCP IP Forwarding method
WAN - 2 * 14Mbps to South America
