Is it possible to deploy Cisco Call Manager in a satellite hub environment?

Hi All,

Just curious what you think.

Is it possible to deploy a centralised  Cisco Call Manager model  in a satellite hub environment where the main site connects to the rest of the star via satellite links.

Some of the remote sites connect via a single satellite hop (600ms) and some even have a double hop (1100mS of delay)

I believe that we would have problems with SCCP between the CM and the phones in this environment and think that the only option would be to use Call Manager Expresses at each of the remote endpoints.

Does anyone know for certain.

I saw in the solutions reference manual that they recommend a minimum of 768K bandwidth.

I probablly can afford this bandwidth over the satellite links; but am concerned with the delay.

Thanks in advance for your input

Regards,

alalli

CM or CME at the hub, does not make a difference.

I both cases, phones will work OK over satellite links.

Altough, high latency will somewhat degrade voice quality.
