WCS Migration from Linux to Windows

Dear Team, my Customer plans to Migrate from WLSE based WCS ver 5.2 to a New Platform /w Win2k3 ver 6.0. Should i expect Problems or is the Migration Straight Forward? Mz suggestion is, to make a Backup from 5.2, Install 6.0 on the new Platform and playback the Backup. Direct Upgrade from 5.2.148.0 to 6.0.170 is supported. Thx for any comment.

You will be all fine with this migration. You however will need to change your license as the WLSE converted to WCS license will not work on your WCS standalone server.

All you need for the migration is:

-WCS 6.0 license for standalone (not the converted WLSE-WCS license that you currently have)

-the nmsbackup file : run a WCS backup and move this file to your other server and restore it, after you have installed 6.0

Thx for your fast response. Is there a way to find out that the License used is an converted one or a standard WCS License? The Customer showed me the PAC and the item Name was WCS-Standard-K9, which seems to me a "normal" WCS License...

Regards. Michael

The WLSE license says WLSE-WCS.

If you have a WCS-Standard-K9 for the new machine, then you are GOOD to go!

Thank you very much, thats the Information i needed.

Have a Great Day!
