can't get phones to register with CME

hi All,


I am trying to setup a lab with some cp-7940g phones and a 1760 running cme.  I have gone through all the configuration steps in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Guide.

But I can't get the phones to register with CME.  The phones get an IP address, they grab the config files, get assigned an extension number, but I can't make any calls between the phones.  Can someone please suggest what trouble shooting steps I can take to see what is going wrong?

Why SIP mode ?

Switch phones to SCCP firmware and you will enjoy troublefree operation and a lot of more features.

The if still troubles, post in voice section, not here.

I was afraid you were going to say this.  But I want to learn how to implement both SIP and SCCP.  Can you suggest how to find out why the phones are not registering?  Is there a good debug command to use for this?

Problem solved.  I was using 7-5-00 firmware on the phones.  I changed to firmware 8-12-00 and it now seems to be working.

SCCP Advice remains.

CME + SIP = +problems -features.
