We have Cisco IP PHONE 7960 and the the sidecard 7914 (Expansion Module) hooked up to all of our phones. All phones have an overlay so we can Intercom each other.
All 12 analog incoming lines are assigned to the 7914 module. It's great because we can put a call on hold, and go pick up any of the lines in the office. Any of the phones can also pick up the incoming lines.
The problem is that because the Ring Type/Mode is set the Silent, any new incoming phone call takes over our screen. If I hit speaker to make a new phone and we have an incoming phone call at the same time, it will answer the incoming line.
Is there any way to have these analog lines to the 7914 sidecard without the calls taking over our screen?
PS: Why did Cisco put a 128 flash card in the UC520 when you need at least a 256 flash card just to upgrade? Are phones were down all morning and we spent 4 hours on the phone this morning with support

You can configure the to have different behaviors when a call is incoming and you want to answer it or make a call. Look at the auto-line command.

Is their any way to not answer any incoming rings but select the first idle line when I hit the Speaker button?
