Hi Friends,

In my office one Router went to Rommon mode. When I give the dir flash: it did't showed any IOS.I used tftpdnld process to upload the IOS.Then it worked fine for 1 day.Next I restarted the Router and again it went Rommon mode. This time when i give the dir flash:,it is not showing the IOS that is present in the falsh. So i tried to the boot the Router with boot flash:iosname.bin but it is giving following error.

bad file magic number and with some other errors it ends with Rommon prompt.

My question is whether it is the problem of the corrupted Flash or IOS?

If it is the flash,to confirm it,is it possible to boot the Router by removing the flash away from Router and booting it with TFTP server?

Please answer my question,I am waiting for all of your valuable suggestions.

Thanks & Regards

Ganesh

But we have the same Routers in different locations using same IOS.We have not experienced this kind of problem anywhere. Are there chances for the corruption of the flash card.

Other thing is,is it possible to boot Router from TFTP server with flash card from Rommon mode using tftpdnld -r.

How big is your CF?  64mb?
