Upgrade 6.1.4.1190-3 to 7.1.3b.31900-1 With Security

Hi,

My customer will change his Call Manager version from 6.1.4 to 7.1.3. The cluster (and phones) use security on phone.

I want to know if it is necessary to uninstall security before upgrade ? Could you give the documentation on the Cisco Web site ?

Thanks you for your help.

Vincent

Unless you're changing the IP/hostname or adding servers to the cluster there is nothing special to do, just follow the regular upgrade instructions.

If you're doing any of the items i mentioned then you do need to turn security off, recreate the CTLs after upgrade and then reenable it.

Hello,

Thanks you for your answer. I undestand if i only do the upgrade without change CTL i don't need do uninstall CTL before upgrade and reinstall after upgrade.

I don't do modification because i don't do this event :

•The first time that you set the cluster security mode

•The first time that you create the CTL file

•After the Cisco Unified Communications Manager installation

•After you restore a Cisco Unified Communications Manager server or Cisco Unified Communications Manager data

•After you change the IP address or hostname of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager server

•After you add or remove a security token

•After you add or remove a ASA firewall

•After you add or remove a TFTP server

•After you add or remove a Cisco Unified Communications Manager server

•After you upload a third-party, CA-signed certificate to the platform

So i can upgrade directly to 7.1.2.

Thanks,

Vincent
