ip phone 6921 to show name on display

Hi,

I just deploy 6921 to customer and customer complain why only extention is showed on display.

Is there a way to change it to name or line text label ?

Hi All,

Can someone from Cisco Team help us on this? Customer wants us to do some workaround. They keep on saying "How come newer and higher end Callmanager cannot do display the name on this phone. CME and UC can show the name of the phone in this 6921 phone.

It is an entry level phone, it is normal that some features are not supported. Beside, there is not even space to show a name on single-line display.

Note, CME does not support this phone, and "UC" does not mean anything.

CME 8.0 does support 6900 series, and it shows the line text label.

Yeah, we're trying to implement a lot of these 6900's and we're quite surprised with the lack of features it has. One of them is the inability to show the user information on its display and the multiple call/call waiting feature (even thou there is a workaround with the 2nd line).

But anyway is an entry level, we know that... but come on... Show at least a small part of the user info, like a first name or something, the lcd display has plenty of space for that. We're thinking about putting some paper with glue with the user name beside the Cisco Logo, now that would be ugly.
