Hi Netpro
Can Etherchannel be configured as Layer2 and Layer3. We plan to aggregate link between Cisco Catalyst 6500 and F5-LTM
F5 recommends LACP. How do I configure LACP on 6500 CATOS, anything to lookout on this change.
cheers

Well if it's CatOS you can only configure L2 etherchannel as CatOS is L2. If you run native on your 6500 ie IOS for both the switch and the router processor then yes you can configure both L2 and L3 etherchannel.
See this link for configuration details for etherchannel on CatOS -
CatOS etherchannel configuration

Tom,
This example shows how to create port channel interface 1:
Router# configure terminal
Router(config)# interface port-channel 1
Router(config-if)# ip address 172.32.52.10 255.255.255.0
Router(config-if)# end
Here is the config guide on how to configure Layer-2 Layer-3 Etherchannel.
