When a 7912 phone, receives a call (handset goes OffHook), then proceeds to execute the Call-Park feature successfully (call gets parked), then puts the hand-set back to go OnHook. However, the next time this 7912 phone goes OffHook with the handset (thus, placing a call)......the 7912 phone automatically reboots (sometimes we get as far as dailing two buttons before the reboot). This is a consistent problem with any of the 7912 phones used in our environment. Our environment consists of both 7912 and 7961 phones. The 7961 type phones do not have his problem.
In working with the Cisco TAC, we have tried different versions of the router IOS and CME versions. As well as, different 7912 phone loads.
The current IOS running on the 2811 router is v12.4(22)T4 and CME v7.0(1). The 7912 phone load is v8.0x.
(Take note, a packet capture via Wireshark was provided to the TAC, thus was sniffed from the ethernet port of the 7912 phone - Not enough relevant information to act upon in terms of a resolution). Lastly, TAC is unable to find any bug information about this problem.
Interestingly, I did downgrade the 2811 router to IOS v12.4(11)T3 with CME v4.0(2) and the problem stopped. However, this is NOT the solution because, this IOS & CME version DOES NOT support the Cisco Wireless 7925 IP Phones in our environment.
Other phone features on the 7912, such as; Transferring a call or Forwarding a call, works fine.
We are open for additional assistance. Thanks!!

Hello,
The Phone Load currently in use is; CP7912080003SCCP070409A.sbin
We also tried other Phone loads, such as; CP7912050000SCCP041115A.sbin, CP7912060000SCCP050124A.sbin, CP7912060100SCCP050315C.sbin

Try 8.0(4)
If it still happens, the only thing you can is to use different phones, as the 7912 has already reached end of support.

So, based on your analysis, you have concluded that this problem points to the 7912 phone? What considerations did you come across regarding the versions of the router IOS and/or CME versions? FYI...in the Cisco TAC's lab, they are running a 7912 phone load of CP7912060100SCCP050315C and router IOS v12.4(22)T4, with CME 7.0(1). Interestingly, their 7912 phones do not have the reboot problem, as correlated to the Call-Park feature.

When a device crashes and reboots, it's a bug in that device.

I have seen weird issues like this in the past which have eventually been cured by swopping out the router however as you have downgraded the router
and tested fine it can;t be a hardware fault. The only option i can think of is it is a bug which is not yet documented. When cisco did the tests with exactly the same software versions did they do exactly the same as you, in the past i have sent cisco the exact process even down to which button to press.
If this doesn't work i can only suggest that you swop out the 7912 as previously stated

End of support already?? That's contradicitve according to the Cisco web site, as it shows End of Support (HW) on May 24, 2012....and End of Support (SW) on May 25, 2010

End of SW Maintenance Releases Date: | The last date that Cisco Engineering may release any final software maintenance releases or bug fixes. After this date, Cisco Engineering will no longer develop, repair, maintain, or test the product software. | May 25, 2008 |
Meaning: they will not file bugs and even less fix them.
