How to create a new Call-pick-up group?

Hi,

I am new to IP-telefoni and to our "Cisco Unified CM Administration System version: 7.0.1.11000-2." installation.

How do I create a new call pickup group and what do I need before I can create a new one? (I know that a call-pickup-group has a number and that you add phones to it).

I have tried to search on some information on how to create a Call pickup group, and I have tried to search on examples on how it is done, but has not been successful so far.

Can you help a newbie?

Kind regards,

Carl-Marius

Hi Carl-Marius,

Well you've already got the concept so, you're halfway there

This first Tech Note is based on CCM 4.x but the general thoughts

carry over well to CUCM 7.x and show the config steps;

Configuring and Utilizing the Call Pickup and Group Pickup Features with Cisco CallManager

Keep this link handy, you will find much of your reference material via this site;

This guide is specific to your enquiry;

Hi Rob,

Thank you very much for your quick answer! - Now I have something to work on with.

Kind regards,

Carl-Marius

Hey Carl-Marius,

You are most welcome my friend

When you are working with these new (to you) features and

configs, it's really great to set yourself up a small test lab. Use some

various phone models if possible and then you can try out all

these setups without impacting any production phones. Ultimately,

you will find that an "actual" lab is almost a must for working with

Unified Communications.

Cheers!

Rob
