Cisco 7613 Router boots from sup-bootdisk instead of disk0 as per boot system command

Hi,

I have a C7613 with two sup engines in redundant mode (SSO).

My issue is as follows;

I have IOS 12.2.18 in sup-bootdisk and IOS 12.2.33 in disk0 in both SUP720s. I have set the boot variable as "boot system flash disk0:"

The issue is that SUP1 loads with .33 IOS and SUP2 loads with .18 IOS. For some reason SUP2 does not follow the boot system command.

In some cases, SUP2 correctly loads from disk0 using .33 IOS in other cases it loads .18 IOS.

I have another 7613 at a different site with the same setup and IOS and it boots correctly all the time.

The main difference is that I got a replacement SUP for the SUP2 for the router with the above issue and since then I have had the issue. The replacement SUP is identical to the existing SUP (memory,flash,MSFC,etc).

Is there some setting maybe i need to configure for the replacement SUP?

Some output;

7613_01#sh bootvar
BOOT variable = disk0:,1;
CONFIG_FILE variable =
BOOTLDR variable =
Configuration register is 0x2102

Standby BOOT variable = disk0:,1;
Standby CONFIG_FILE variable does not exist
Standby BOOTLDR variable =
Standby Configuration register is 0x2102

Hi,

Can you try with boot system flash disk0: instead of boot system flash disk0: ?

Thanks

Laurent.
