Expanding numbering plan

I am looking to expand a 4 digit dialing plan to 7 digit on CUCM 7.x, is it easiest to pull a BAT file of current phones, and reimport with the added numbers, or is there another way to go about it?  I know it will be easy to add route patterns so not all phones have to be done at one time.

I usually do what you mention, bulk export all details, modify the csv, delete phones, reimport with all details.

You can start with 2-3 phones for practice.

I went through this last year. Do you have multiple sites? If so you may want to consider have the site be able to dial 4 digit within the site and 7 digits between the sites. You can do this using translation patterns, and only having the partition for that translation in the home CSS in place of the far end's phone partition. Let me know if you need more details.
