configuring mail server on 3560 switch ...

heey everyone ....


we are using a Cisco 3560 Switches here at the office.


how can i configure smtp mail server on my switch?


i want my switch to send me an alert if a certain port reaches a certain level of utilization?


can this be done ...

Hi ,

To get alert when ever switch reports any error or port utilization or port error you need to configure snmp configuration in switches with having NMS need to be configured with devices having string configured in switches.

check out the below link for configuring snmp in switches for any alert conditions

Hi ,

however, is there any direct commands i can use on the cisco switch to have this alert system. i mean without enabling/configuring SNMP.
