We until recently had two x Netgear Managed Switches. One kept locking up intermitently, so we decided to replace it and bought the Cisco ESW500.
The two managed switches can link together ok, but we have another issue now.
Some of our users connect to the switches via Netgear FS108 Desktop Switches and other connect in direct. The direct users can connect to the Cisco fine, any 'hubbed' users cannot connect into the cisco and instead have to connect to the Netgear.
If only one user connected via a 'hub' it is ok ... but not multiple users.
Not a huge issue at this stage, but once we run out of space in the netgear it will be.
Any ideas?

How did you configure the ports which connect to those hubs/switches?

Found it out in the end, The individual ports on the Cisco can be configured depending on what device you are connecting to them, i.e router, desktop or switch. Changed ports to 'switch' and all is ok !

Yes, there is a bit of additional flexibility in how you configure the ports and what is allowed. By default all ports are 'access' ports and the uplink ports are set for inter-switch connections ... AKA - 'Switch'. Using the smart ports application is the best way to change this!
