Sticky sessions and Admin context

Hi,

Please could someone confirm if we can achieve session persistence when configuring load balancing in Admin context i.e. a flat configuration.

I read in the document White_Paper_Cisco_Application_Control_Engine_A_Technical_Overview_of_Virtual_Partitioning.pdf (ACE module) that it is not possible as no resources are allocated for sticky sessions in default class, but I see the following on 4710 appliance

sh resource allocation

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parameter                 Min      Max         Class
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
sticky                    0.00%    100.00%    default

Any ideas if it is possible at all in Admin Context?

Rgds,

Mo

Hi,

yes this is possible.

For stickyness to work, you need to allocate sticky resources for that context.

Create a resource-class, allocate the resources you need and assign that resource class to the Admin context.

Dario
