Routers Required to run full BGP.

Unanswered Question

I currently have 2 outdated Cisco 7206 NPE-200 routers with 128 MB of ram.  I am looking at replacing them with the 7206VXR with the NPE-400 with 512 of ram. My understanding is that to run full BGP it is recomended minimal 512 of ram. I feel lik I may be pushing it by sticking with the minumun.

Can any one share any eperiance on doing the above or recomendations.

I have this problem too.

You might want to look at NPE-G1 or above with 1GB or RAM. Here is the output from one of the ATT route-server

route-server>sh ip bgp sum
... ...
BGP using 380692027 total bytes of memory

route-server>sh proc mem
