At one of our customers' site, we receive garbage at the end of the 'Calling Party Name' field'. We did a capture of their SKINNY traffic and here's an example of what we see in the pcap file for the 'Calling Party Name' value:
PRIVATE NAMEl?\273\334\a6\017X7z\002nM\031\t
So, what are the character following the name value? Are they control characters? Should they be there at all?
Thanks

Hi
It's probably not garbage - what you will normally find is that the version of skinny has gone up when you have upgraded your CCM and/or phone firmware.
Your packet analyser now doesn't understand the new version of SCCP.
You can either go to your packet analyser vendor for updates, or look elsewhere for the information you need - for example, turn on detailed tracing for SCCP on the CCMs, and then look in the trace files.

Aaron

Check that you have all service patches applied and phone FW is current.
