Presence 7.0 User Groups

Unanswered Question

It seems in Presence 7.0 that user groups are in synch with the UCM user groups.  You can add an Application user to a group in CUP, but not an end user.  If you add an end user in UCM to the Super Users group, it will show up in CUP Super Users.  Other groups in UCM do not show up in CUP User Groups.

How do we get custom UCM user groups to associate to the CUP server?  Or, how do we add end users to a custom group in CUP?  We dont want all of our Help Desk/Admin type users to have Super User access in UCM just to get access to CUP.

Thanks!

This is a known limitation of CUPS.

The only workaround is to create application user and fine tune their permission by using user groups.

The reason for that is: CUPS synchorize most of the database tables from CUCM (and keep syncing).  One of the exception is the "application user".  So you can customize the application user without worrying them being overwritten by the synchronization.

You may submit a feature request to your account mangaer.  See if the developer can enhance this in future releases.
