We are communicating the Cisco ASA 5505 with our own Radius server for Authorization and Accounting purposes.
We have been able to assign the IP address to the VPN client through Radius Authentication request and are correctly receiving Accounting Start and Stop signals.
But we DO NEED Acocunting Interim updates, triggered by timeout or volume (every x seconds or every n Kbytes, for instance).
The configuration screens suggest that Radius interim updates are possible (see figure below), but we have not been received any.
aaa-server riss protocol radius
accounting-mode simultaneous
interim-accounting-update
aaa-server riss (inside) host 192.168.10.3
key mcentric
authentication-port 1646
accounting-port 1647

Hi,
I want ask if you solve your problem with accounting update interval, because I have same problem. I need to setup accounting update interval after a few minutes.
Thanks for any advice,
Veronika

Hello Veronika,
No, finally I did not find an answer for this.
We used the Cisco ASA 5500 for a demo for an application that performs volume accounting. We did it in an alternative way using the box in next hop.
Thanks
