CCIE R&S Code Version / Lab Version 4

Unanswered Question

Hi,

I am really concerned about what IOS I should be using for the CCIE R&S lab.  It's a particular problem for me because I'm heavily using the configuration guides and command references to study.

On the certification support website it states 12.4T, whereas on an older 2005 'Ask the Expert' thread 12.4 Mainline is the one.  I have a 7200, 3725 and some 2600s in a rack at work.  I've also got some 3550s but am less worried as these have the latest IP services code on them.

So far I have been using 12.4(15)T9, although there are later releases such as 12.4(24)T2 for the 7200.  Is there a recommended / specific code release, or is it just the latest T train up to 6 months before the date of the lab?

Thanks for any help,

Richard

I have this problem too.

Richard, I would stick with the more current information as oppossed to a thread from 2005.  12.4T AES is what I've been using for lab prep and I haven't had any issues with feature support.

Hello Richard,

>> It's a particular problem for me because I'm heavily using the  configuration guides and command references to study.

this is the good way to do it.

Use the last information because lab is reviewed from time to time, and version 4 is a major change. if you think of all the EEM stuff it has changed a lot with last releases.

You can find more recent ask the expert about R&S CCIE lab version 4 here

CCIE R&S v4.0 with Gorito

hint: using discussions tab you can see also older ask the expert events the main page shows only recent ones.

Hope to help
