I have a VSS pair and the distance is about 20 Km.  It works but I wouldn't recommend it.

Hi Leo

  Why you didn't recommend it?

  Thank you

If, for example, the VSS will go into "split-brain" then you don't want to drive 20 Kms away just to give the 2nd unit a kick-in-the-guts.

Particularly, when the outage is severely disrupting services.

If I wanted a VSS pair, I want it to be no more than 50 metres away.
