Hi All,
GigabitEthernet0/1 from FULL to DOWN, Neighbor Down: Dead timer expired
.Feb 23 2010 20:11:16.177 gmt: %OSPF-5-ADJCHG: Process 1, Nbr x.x.x.x
on GigabitEthernet0/1 from LOADING to FULL, Loading Done
Why these below error means?
I am using Point-to-point network type.
I am using hello interval 1sec and dead interval 3sec.
Scenario:--Rtr--Modem---------Vsat----------------Router.

you timers are very low. That can cause the reload of OSPF...

Hello Subashmbi,
the local node didn't see an OSPF message from neighbor for 3 seconds and declared down the neighbor.
The OSPF adjacency has been rebuilt.
I would suggest you to use a dead interval = 4 seconds to follow the 1:4 ratio of default timers.
The VSAT may introduce high delay also. So I would use even 5 or 6 seconds as dead interval
Check also the following:
interface counters with sh interface to see if there are errors
the QoS that is implemented on the link.
Not all Cisco platforms have a system queue to protect OSPF messages, check for output drops on the other side.
Hope to help
Giuseppe

I didn,t see any interface errors.Yes, QOS shaping is configured in this interface.
