Hello

I'd like to update IOS of a  WS-C2950G-48-EI.

Now it runs 12.1(22)EA4a. Doku says to use

archive download-sw

But my switch doesn't know this command.

sw78#archive ?
tar  List or extract files in a tar image

Any ideas?

thanks in advance

Thomas

archive tar /xtract tftp://x.x.x.x/iosname.tar flash:

works fine

you also have to set the new image to boot

conf term

boot system flash:.bin

That Great the command work and thanks for the additional input for changing the image to boot. It will be helpful if you can mark this thread as resolved so that other also get beniffitted.

If the ios is packeged in a tar file use:

archive tar /xtract tftp://x.x.x.x/iosname.tar flash:

If ios is not packed in tar (ie .bin) use

copy tftp flash:
