What is correct cable between Nortel Option 81C and Cisco gateway

We are trying to establish QSIG connections between our Nortel Option 81C and Cisco 3845.

We are able to get layer 1 "active" ( shows via show ISDN status).

But layer 2 ISDN will not establish (keeps going between TEI_ASSIGNED and AWAITING_ESTABLISHMENT).  Nortel guys say their side is setup correctly.

I want to get back to basics and make sure the cable is correct.  What we have  connected on Nortel T1 port is a DA-15 which on the rear side has interface for RJ connection.  From the rear of that DA-15 we have a T1 cross-over cable (i..e in rear of DA-15 pins 1,2, 4,5 and other end connecting into T1 port on 3845 is pins 4,5 1,2).  We validated with Cable tester that pins are crossed.

Is this the correct cabling?  We tried at first just straight through, and could not establish layer 1.  As soon as we connected with above, layer 1 established (but not layer 2).

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Set isdn protocol-emulate network.

I have that input already.

i setup a T1 cross to seperate cisco CME router .  Layer 2 and 3 came up without issue, making calls between these gateways.

I believe it's a cabling issue, not sure what cable I need (DB15 to rj45 T1 crossover or straightthrough)???

Nortel T1 port (db15 connector into T1 port, other side of db15 connector is rj interface).  From there I have to go to a pach panel under the floor, which connect to another patch panel on other side of data center.  Then on this far side patch panel, I patch from this far side patch panel into gateway T1 port.

Nortel DB15/RJ45 - to patch panel - runs to another patch panel - rj45 cable over to gateway T1 port.

What is correct cable ?

Regards,

Have you set clock internal? Send show controllers T1.

You need to respect pairing, that is make sure TX pair use an ethernet pair and same for TX.

Below is output.

Regardless if you think there is issues on the config side( which I can't say 100% there isn't), can you please let me know the exact cabling I need between Nortel (which has DB15 Femail Interface for T1) and Cisco side.  Link below leads me to believe I need DB15-RJ48 T1 cross-over (or DB15-RJ48 straightthrough)?  I want to at least ensure I have proper cabling.

Thanks and I will be sure to Rate.

Regards,

As mentioned above.

You need to respect pairing in T1 cabling going to Ethernet cabling.

Both pinouts are available everywhere.

Would you post the DB15 pinout that you got working with the T1 crossover cable?

Thanks,
