ATA 186 for Fax problems

Hi all,

I'm configuring ATA 186 right now and the ATA is already registered to CUCM using SCCP. To call outside number, i use 9 as an access code and i'm using mgcp gateway with E1 line to PSTN.

I have configured the ATA with audio mode = 0x00150015 and connect mode = 0x90000400.

In the mgcp gateway, i added the following command :

no ccm-manager fax protocol

mgcp modem passthrough voip mode nse

mgcp modem passthrough voip codec g711ulaw

mgcp fax t38 inhibit

But the fax cannot dial out. If i connect anolog phone to the ATA, i call outside number and analog phone can accept outside call.

Does anybody have any idea about this problem?

Hi,

Do you mean that you can dial out with an analogue phone and not with the fax or do you mean that the fax dials out but then doesn't send the fax.

Useful advice when using fax machines on ATA's is to turn off ECM and lower transmit speed down to 9600.
