I have some doubts about the what is the best option to integrate an very old TDM pbx without digital options (t1/e1) with a cme.

I used fxo with the pstn, but not with pbx´s.

Can I use fxs ports ?

What are the pros and cons between fxo and fxs?.

Thanks

Best would be both fxo and fxs.

Calls always going out fxo to fxs. Otherwise you cannot have one-stage dialing in both directions.

If your old PBX supports it you may want to look at E&M ports. They are the analogue equivalent of QSIG and are( were) used to interconnect PBX's
