Does Nexus 5K support Microsoft NLB

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know or implemented Microsoft NLB setup on Nexus 5K? I could not find any relevant doco state that Nexus 5K could support this Microsoft NLB functions so far.

Base on the N5K CLI, I can manually defined static mac address table. However, Static ip arp config isn't available on n5k switch.

N5K is Layer 2 access switch and do not support ip routing. Therefore, static arp for MS NLB configuration are optional on N5K.

I believe you must have N7K or 6500 or router act as default gateway for that MS server subnet which connected to N5k. You would need to configure static arp/mac on your gateway devices as well to maintain ip reachable from outside network in addtion to static mac confg on N5K. Otherwise, you would see incomplete arp entry on arp table and packet got drop on your gateway.

Above workaround should works. however, I have not tried this in the lab yet.
