Secure, wired, guest access to internet on a UC560

Is there a way to provide a secure, hard wired, guest internet access without creating a 3rd VLAN ?

We're using Cbeyond SIP services...

We've tried a Qos switch off the IAD, in frotn of the UC and the voice did NOT like that scenario AT ALL. We'd like to avoid any voice issues.

We were thinking a separate DSL line and keeping it OFF the UC and network entirely, but that may not be a cost effective solution in the customer's eyes.

Thanks,

Stacy

You answered your own question. 3rd vlan is the best, most secure way if it runs on the same network or physically segment. Any other way is just asking for trouble.

Why are you opposed to a 3rd VLAN?

I think we're opposed to a 3rd VLAN only from a project labor standpoint.

It isn't our standard config, and we've tried this on a UC520 for one client that did not work. We did not seek support in resolving as it wasn't necessary to have it.

In this case, we're installing the new phone system based on estimated time of our standard scope. This would be considered outside of scope and I'm not sure how much time it "should" take to do this. If there was a quick and easy solution we'd include it in our scope, but it sounds like a 3rd VLAN is the only way to do it. Any ideas of time estimates?  Does anyone have any example configs or guides?

Thanks,

Stacy
