CAM Web Admin Console is Unavailable

Hi All,

We have two CAM appliances and they are configured in HA mode. Today i have noticed that one of them is active and the other one is dead and I can't  access it by using web admin console although i can access it by CLI and I can ping the active one from it and also ping the failover IP. What is the reason of the following error message? why couldn't I access its web admin console?

Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Check your heartbeat interface and see if that is alive or not. I suspect the HA is broken between the two.

HTH,

Faisal

Hi Faisal,

Thanks for your reply.

The failover interfaces are UP-UP on the two switches that are connected to the CAM appliances. please find below the status of the two failover interfaces on both appliance as they can't ping each other:

[root@CAM1 ~]# ifconfig eth1
eth1      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:26:55:1E:1D:62
          inet addr:10.10.10.5  Bcast:10.10.10.255  Mask:255.255.255.0

[root@CAM2 ~]# ifconfig eth1

[root@CAM2 ~]# ping 10.10.10.5

So, what can i do to solve that problem??

Hi,

What code are you on for NAC?

Faisal

Hi Faisal,

Sorry I don't know what do you mean by "code"? It's unix based and its version is 4.7.1

Thanks,

Heba

Heba,

That's what I was asking, the version. So 4.7.1 with HA broken. No easy fix.

Log on to the one that seems to be dead. Stop perfigo service, and remove these files: /etc/ha.d/perfigo.conf, /etc/ha.d/haresources, /etc/ha.d/ha.cf

Reboot the CAM, and when it comes back up, it will be in standalone mode. Reconfigure the HA on it. Make SURE that your certificates are set right on both boxes, otherwise HA will fail again or not work right at all.

If all else fails, open a TAC case so an engineer can work with you.

HTH,

Faisal

Hi Faisal,

Thanks alot for your cooperation, you always benefit us.

It's better to open a TAC case for that issue as i'm working in a very critical environment!

Hi Faisal,

You are the man

I deleted the 3 files and I reconfigured the HA again and it's working fine now without opening a tac case so, I'd like to thank you for your help and ur cooperation.

Regards,

Heba

Glad I could help!

Faisal
