Cat6k Failed to boot up IOS

Hi NetPro.

Now hitting another problem for Cat6k. i am doing the patching for Cat6k ... while rebooting the switch directly went to rommon1>. whereby i have checked the boot path and IOS image. everything was ok. the weird thing was from rommon1> i type boot command. it went up for a minute and went down to rommon1> again .....

i am totally no idea how to fix this.. i have tried few times to boot but eventually still failed.

Hi,

while in rommon. type "set" and see if you are pointing to the right image. Then do a "dir bootflash:" and see if the image exist in bootflash:

After verifying the image type "boot bootflash:"

Hi Reza.

thanks for your information, i have checked the directory and the IOS was in the sup-bootdisk: however , when i reboot and the sup engine was not able to boot up the New either the Old , it went to the Rommon directly . then i forced to boot up the Old IOS . it went up for few second and went down to Rommon again. that's why i was surprised why the Old IOS also can't boot up anymore.....

Hi,

You can also boot it from disk0 if you have one. Get a CF card and use a good box to copy the IOS into it then put it in CF slot on the sup and when in rommon. type "boot disk0:and the IOS name" and see if you can boot it from disk0:

Hi Reza,

Thanks for sharing , i am just suprised that once the Core switch reboot and it keeping up to Rommon1> ... could it be the hardware problem ?
because, once the switch rebooted and i found there are lot of crashinfo in the directory.
