Is there anyway for me to push the newer ios ( 12.2(53)SG1 ) to the Primary sup without having to reboot?

Hi Brent,
Every time you load a new you have to reboot the box in order for the new software to load. Since you have redundant Sups in your box and they are running in SSO more, you can use ISSU to upgrade without any downtime. They way it works is that you load the new IOS into the stand-by sup and reboot. after that you force the stand-by to be the primary and now you load the IOS in the other SUP and reboot You have to follow the instruction to do it correctly. I would caution you to do this during an outage window.

Good Luck
