Hello,
We are connecting a Cisco 1841 router (WIC 1T) to the PE router and running an encapsulation frame-relay.
We are not able to ping between both the devices even though the connectivity is fine. Below are the observations for your reference
a) We have checked the config on the router both the DLCI is up and active still we are not able to ping the PE,
On troubleshooting the problem, we observed
1) All the LMI status are clean, all the interfaces are up and active.
Yet, from the routers it wont ping the other ip interfaces of the other PE serial interfaces.
When i do a debug frame packet.. I see the following from the two that dont work :
serial0/0/0.1: broadcast search
serial0/0/0.1: encaps failed for broadcast for link 38(BRIDGE)
Can you please let me know what can be the problem
Regards
Arshad

Hi Arshad,
What do you mean by "connectivity is fine"? Please elaborate!
Can you please paste the running configuration of your Serial WAN interface, both physical and sub-interface configurations.
Also, please run the following commands:
show frame-relay lmi
show frame-relay map
show frame-relay pvc
There sounds to be some kind of mismatch in configuration between your router and the SP's router, please look at your sub-interface configuration (p2p or p2mp) hit here is in your debugs "serial0/0/0.1: encaps failed for broadcast for link 38(BRIDGE)".
However, without looking at your configurations its hard to judge, but i'd be double-checking all configurations and confirming with your SP, so both ends match up.
HTH
Joe.

Hello Joe,
Thanks for your reply. Please find the config below
---------------------------------------------
This is the current config that is in the operational router , which was online for some time , now its not accessible , the customer might have switched it off .
The same config is applied on the new router cisco :1841
