MAC Address not populating on 6500's

I have two cat 6513's tied together via a port-group with a dot1q trunk.  The mac address of a machine is not showing up one 6513 when I do the following commands:

sw6513A#show mac-address-table address 0050.564f.d438
Legend: * - primary entry
age - seconds since last seen
        n/a - not available

vlan   mac address     type    learn     age              ports
------+----------------+--------+-----+----------+--------------------------
No entries present.

sw6513A#

sw6513B#show mac-address-table address 0050.564f.d438
Legend: * - primary entry
age - seconds since last seen
        n/a - not available

vlan   mac address     type    learn     age              ports
------+----------------+--------+-----+----------+--------------------------

sw6513B#

When I do the same for other mac-addresses, if the mac address is directly connected to 6513A, 6513b will respond with the po2 as the port.  Why doesn't the other 6513 not know about this mac address?  If a host on 6513A tries to ping the machine on 6513B, the ping fails.  I need to have the mac show up on both 6513's in one fashion or another.

Thanks!

Can you ping the machine on 6513B from that switch ?

Can you ping the machine on 6513B from the the 6513A switch ?

Is vlan 142 allowed on the trunk link ?

Jon

I can ping the machine from both machines.  I cannot do a traceroute to the machine from either switch.

So you can ping the machine from both switches but not from a client attached to the 6513A switch ?

With a successful ping from 6513A switch what does the mac-address table and arp table on 6513A show ?

Jon
