Hello Senthil,

you should also provide the sh module

there are IOS images that support services modules like FWSM, ACE, CSM, WISM and WAN modules like flexwan and other that cannot.

A good recent train with support for service modules is 12.2(33)SXI2a

see this example:

sh module
Mod Ports Card Type                              Model              Serial No.
--- ----- -------------------------------------- ------------------ -----------
  2    6  Firewall Module                        WS-SVC-FWM-1       SAD085008DY

  3  00d0.d39b.7210 to 00d0.d39b.7217   2.3   4.2(0.24)VAI 12.2(33)SXI2 Ok

or a 12.2(33)SRE to stay on the C7609 product line

you have 512 MB of RAM on your system, dir /all can tell you the flash size

>> cisco CISCO7609 (R7000) processor (revision 1.1) with 458752K/65536K bytes of memory.

you have only 64MB of memory for flash

>> 65536K bytes of Flash internal SIMM (Sector size 512K).

you probably need to put an external flash of bigger size, if possible, to load recent IOS images

I have another router cisco 7609 with the details

Cisco IOS Software, c7600s72033_rp Software (c7600s72033_rp-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.2(33)SRC4, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

Shall I download IOS and use that IOS in old cisco router disk instead of flash.Any problem will come.

Thanks and Regards,

Senthil

Hello Senthil,

with your hardware the SW advisor suggests the following image:

12.2(18)SXF16
s72033-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.12.2-18.SXF16

probably 12.2(33)SXH or 12.2(33)SXI don't support flexwan modules WS-X6182-2PA.

As far as I know the image can be placed on the external disk.

you willl need to configure the correct image name and path

boot system drivename:imagename

Hope to help

Giuseppe

sir,

can i use Cisco IOS  Software, c7600s72033_rp Software (c7600s72033_rp-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M),  Version 12.2(33)SRC1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

This is available in  another cisco 7609 router.Whether it will detect Flewan Module.also whether this OS will support ip sla monitor command.

Thanks  and Regards,

Senthil

Hello Senthil,

I think you are probably tied to 12.2(18)SXF with flexwan module as I've seen in SW advisor tool

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Sir,

i want to upgrade this router for using track based routing.Whether this will support ip sla monitor or rtr command.

Thanks and Regards,

Senthil

Hello Senthil,

I've checked on release notes because it looked like strange flexwan modules not supported in recent IOS images.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/7600/Hardware/12.2SR_supported_hw/DRAFTS/7600_hwd_SRE.html#wp1036417

flexwan service modules are still supported on newer images starting form 12.2(33)SRA

You have probably done this test, the image in your other device should be fine for the upgrade and it should support all those flexwan that are installed.

IP SLA for HSRP, GLBP and VRRP  should be supported but you need IP services, or advanced IP services or advanced enterprise feature set

Edit:

>> c7600s72033_rp Software (c7600s72033_rp-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M),  Version  12.2(33)SRC1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

yes, this is fine for your needs

Hope to help

Giuseppe
