OSPF ASBR summerization

Hi,

On ASBR ( EIGRP-OSPF) summarization is configured

in ospf process

summery-address 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0

redistribute eigrp 11 subnets

in eigrp process

redistribute ospf 10 metric 2000 0 255 1 1500

With this 10.1.0.0 /16 subnet is redistributed in OSPF domain but it got reflected back to EIGRP domain from the same router !!

Routers in EIGRP has now

10.1.0.0 /16 route in routing table. This is the only ASBR between EIGRP and OSPF.

Please share the experience. We may need to filter the summerized route going back to EIGRP with prefix-list and route-map.

Hi Subodh,

After you configure summary-address under ospf, it will generate a ospf summary route, and then it will be redistributed into eigrp. You can try to configure "no discard-route external" under ospf process; see if that can prevent this summary route get redistribute back to EIGRP. However disable discard route will cause potential loop.
