High CPU 3845: HC-counter process

hi all

I am facing problem with HC counter process, it shows around 40 % in show process cpu.

i am having 3800 router running with c3845-advipservicesk9-mz.123-11.T2.bin and using QoS, route-map, Netflow, frame relay, Multicast, static redistribution in ospf config on it .

Hey,

Your router IOS is quite old. This is happening because of an IOS defect : CSCsa68051

Use the following link to check more details about this bug:

http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/action.do?hdnAction=searchBugs

You would have to upgrade the IOS to 12.4 version to get a fix. Latest IOS available for your router is 12.4.25c.

You can refer to the following document for IOS upgrade procedure:

Nitpick: the above should say:

Latest 12.4 Mainline IOS available for your router is 12.4.25c.

Hi guys,

Since i was running with 12.3.11 T2 so have upgrade to 12.4.24 T2 and this has fixed the issue.
