Is ther any way to add "*" infront of a calling number in VG. for example, I am dialing from my four digit extension 4062 to another extension in another phone reguistered with remote VG.

I need to translate the calling number 4062 to 0*4062 from originating VG.

I assume you are talking about a H.323 gateway or SIP gateway.  You could try this:

voice translation-rule 10

rule 1 /\(....\)/ /0*\1/

!

voice translation-profile testtranslation

translate calling 10

!

You can test this rule out using the "test voice translation-rule" command, like so:

gateway#test voice translation-rule 10 4062

Matched with rule 1
Original number: 4062   Translated number: 0*4062
Original number type: none      Translated number type: none
Original number plan: none      Translated number plan: none

HTH.

Siraj,

Translation Profile will have to be applied to your VOIP dial peer depending upon which one you are using to send traffic over to the other VG. If you don't apply its not going to translate your number. Its similar to ACL they have to applied to interface ...

If you want to be more specific in translation rules, you can do something like this;

rule 1 /\(^4...$\)/ /0*\1/   [This way it will only translate numbers starting with "4" 4XXX.
