WVC210 v1.1.0.12 Camera - Motion Detection Issue

Unanswered Question
Mar 12th, 2010

I've set up my WVC210 to do motion detection and record video to SMB/SIFS but it looks as if the sensitivity setting is not working.

On the attached screenshot you can see the settings, and also the motion detection windows. In the left window I've drawn a square with a walking man inside.

These kind of movements do not trigger the motion detection to start recording.

I've tested writing to the SMB/SIFS share and that works.

Does anyone have an idea what's wrong or hove to solve this?

I have this problem too.

Hi Steve,

I've set both to the left now, just have to wait until something happens ...

It seems to me that [+] means more sensitive and [-] means less ... ???

I've attached a new screenshot. In the box where the arrow stands a car has arrived, but still no motion detection ...

There have been reported cases on the PVC300 camera where all the way to the left (pinned against the side as you have it) actually disables motion detection.

You see the indicator bar above the threshold slider?   That will graph the intensity of the motion (in real time) to help you see what level you may need.  You can watch it while you determine where to set it.    Weak motion indicates a small bar, big motion (wave in front of the lens) will indicate all the way to the right.
