CCNA and other certifications?

Unanswered Question

Hello everyone, I am a telecom technician with 17 years experience working on various telephone systems, like Nortel Wireless, and realize I will need at least a CCNA certification to keep pace with everything changing to IP. My question is, do I keep on getting more and more into the Cisco certifications, since I have a heavy telecom background, I am good at troubleshooting hardware issues and learning new systems. I was looking at maybe getting the CCNA Wireless after getting the CCNA.

Do you need many more years of solid IP experience to get the other Cisco certifications, or does a combination of other technical experience help out?

Thanks everyone!

I have this problem too.

Hi David,

I think your experience is really great and lot of employers would appreciate it.. CCNA is of course really helpful but I would continue in voice technology

to get CCNA voice  and before it  CCENT which is good entry level .. Than why not to move to CCVP

this cisco certification overview can be helpful
