Solved: Cisco ACE 4710-k9-V3 and OCS

Hi,

I need to know if Cisco ACE 4710-k9-V3 has been tested with OCS Load Balancing, I see this chart here:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/ocs/cc843611.aspx

That says that software version 2.1 is the tested one, but I am not familiar with Cisco naming nomenclature, for example I do not know if the "V3" means the software version (as in the chart 2.1).

So if you guys can help me with this I will appreciate.

I would say you have a newer image.

to be noted the microsoft link has a link to a cisco document for deploying load balancing for MS OCS

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Verticals/ansmsocs.html

in that document the SW running on ACE was:

>>system: Version A2(1.0) (latest version of ACE code)

you have a newer image

>> system: Version A3(2.0) [build 3.0(0)A3(2.0)

and you should be able to use it for your purposes.

The document provides some options and you should make a choice and then follow the path you have chosen.

Hi Andres,

The latest versions on CCO are A2(2.3), A2(1.6a) and A2(3.0). With A2(2.3) is the very latest.

Sorry, but I am not familiar with cisco so I do not fully understood what you said. What means CCO? What ACE Version might have the 4710-k9-v3 device?

Hello Andres,

CCO stands for Cisco connection on line and simply indicates the Cisco website.

ACE can be a standalone appliance or a module that can be inserted in a C6500 lan switch.

In your case is the standalone appliance

In any case the ACE has its own operating system and the versions that Reza has reported refer to this.

Ok, I have this C4710 ACE-MZ.A3_2.0

If I see "2.1" on this table http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/ocs/cc843611.aspx, I must upgrade A3_2.0 to A3_2.1 ?
