Hi,
Just wish to verify if IPS definition/signature files depends on ASA or SSM versions.
If i have a def file from an ASA 5540 SSM-IPS 20 can i use that on my other ASA 5520 SSM-IPS 20 or 10?
Thanks.

The signature file is depending on the version of SSM (IPS module) as well as the engine number of that version.
Also, you would need to make sure that you have the IPS subscription license in your IPS module that you would like to update the signature file on, otherwise, you would not be able to update the signature file.
