I have used Cisco Configuration Assistant to connect to a UC520 which appears to have originally been configured via the CLI. I was using CCA to simplify the software upgrade process.
What I noticed though was when CCA discovered the UC520 it converted all of the vlan interfaces to BVI's. Is this a normal practise for CCA? One of the issues this caused was a reset of all the phones as the virtual mac address for the voice vlan changed when it brought up the BVI.
This makes me very reluctant to fire up CCA against a production system.
I used the same version of CCA (2.2.2) on a different clients system and it left the vlan config intact and did not create BVI's. The difference between the two devices was that the one where it created BVI had integral wireless whereas the latter did not.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.
