What is the CUCM Upgrade Path to upgrade from 4.1 CUCM to CUCM 7.1?

If you have supported hardware, you can migrate directly from 4.1(3) to 7.1 using Data Migration Assistant (DMA).
The easier path; however, is to purchase at least a new Publisher (assuming your other servers can support the software installation to perform as Subscribers). From there, you would run DMA on your existing 4.1 server and import onto a new Publisher. This would mean new IP and hostname for the Publisher (which isn't a big deal). However, you would be able to easily back out given that the old 4.1 Publisher is still in place. Once the Publisher is in place and you are comfortable, you would ugprade your Subscribers.
