Extension mobility auto assignment

Hi there,

I have a few questions,

  1. is it possible to enable the Extension mobility feature (Logout profile) automaticly on any phone connected to the UC520? or it should be done manualy for each one ?
  2. I was connected to my UC520 Via VPN making some tests and I don't know what I enables exactly (I think it's the SNR) but now I can see two new buttons on my softphone screen (Mobility , Login). So what is the purpose of this two buttons and how can it be used ?
  3. I enables the SNR feature from the CCA but when I try to use it in the phone it shows it it's not enables, so how can I enable it for each phone ? or I should configure this using the CLI for each ephone-dn ?

The Mobility button appeared when you enabled SNR as a global feature for all phones on CCA.   That button is used to push calls to and pull call from your programmed alternate number (usually a cell).

This is not extension mobility, which allows a phone instrument to be shared by multiple users.

In addition to enabling SNR, you then have to enter a SNR destination number for each phone you desire to have this capability.

Once thats entered in CCA or in Office manager, you can activate and deactive from the phone as well.

Hi Steve,

thank you for your response , you made the mobility button issue very clear,  what about the extension mobility issue is there any way to enable it automaticaly for any new phone ?

Extension Mobility is not currently supported in CCA 2.2.2. See here:

Feature Reference  Guide (CCA configurable)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6882/ps10585/partner_reference_c07-557625-00.html

This is a complete list of everything configurable  with CCA and a must have if you want to deploy with CCA

I have seen it on the roadmap, but I cant commit any date or release.  Until then, it would be a manual CLI you would have to implement and support as a Partner for your customer.    But one of our TMEs suggests Shared lines as an alternative:

You can also call Small Business Support Center and ask if they can recommend the CLI, but I am not sure they would provide it.

In that case, you can look at Cisco CME documents to figure it out and just be sure to respect the CLI OOB Guide that must be respected for CCA to continue to operate along with it.

(If you use CLI, you MUST follow these rules)
