ip helper-address traffic??

Question on IP helper and broadcast...so PCs will broadcast a DHCP request within a VLAN.

Once requests reach the SVI with an IP helper-address command, will the SVI also broadcast the request to the DHCP server?

or at this point it's a unicast to DHCP server??

thanks!

SVI interface will forward the broadcast DHCP request from the client as a unicast message directed at the helper address, using its own address as the source IP. This is is how the DHCP server knows from which subnet to issue an IP address.

So broadcast from client to SVI --> Unicast from SVI to DHCP server.

You got it
