CUC 7.0 - error Domain name is not valid

Hi,

I tried to entered in the Web admin page of the Unity Connection the smtp domain : cuc7lab.7lab.csb.etg.ca and I always get an error Domain name is not valid. If I change for cuc7lab.aaa.csb.etg.ca, it is ok.

cuc7lab is the host name

7lab.csb.etg.ca is the domain

If put anything without a number in the domain, I did not get that error.

I really do not understand.

Thanks,\

Hi Celine,

It may be this restriction;

The complete domain name used by Connection cannot be a subset of the domain name used by the remote voice messaging system. For example, if Connection is using the domain name cisco.com, the remote voice messaging system cannot use names like london.cisco.com, paris-cisco.com, or romecisco.com. However, you could use europe.cisco.com for Connection, and then use the names london.cisco.com, paris-cisco.com, and romecisco.com for the remote voice messaging systems.

http://www-europe.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/2x/administration_cmbe/guide/6xcucmbesag250.html#wp1049860

Cheers!

Rob

Celine,

Admittedly, I dont 100% follow what you're trying to do.  Are you trying to change the SMTP domain of the CUC server to match the domain name of the server or were you trying to access the server's web pages using the SMTP domain vs. the domain name (or IP) of the server?
