Hello,

which MCS would you suggest for a maximum 250 users? I think MCS-7816

which MCS would you suggest for a maximunm 500 users? I think MC-7825

which CUCM version would you suggest 7.0 or 7.1?

also I need a minimum cost E1 gateway fully working with minimal or no scalability, I'm thinking about 2811V + an added PVDM2-16

I thank you all for your suggestions

Johnny

If you are looking for Cisco approved ranges then I recommend going to the SRND.  If you are looking for opinions, I never deploy anything lower than a MCS-7825 myself.  My reasoning is not really founded in the black and white area of technical specifications.  I just think of the MCS-781x as lab play toys.

CUCM version:  I would go with 7.1(3b)SU2.  I have been running that in my lab and at a few customer sites without issue.

Gateway.  Your choice.  I like to stay aware from anything lower than a 28xx.  I also recommend provisioning adequate DSPs for conferencing resources.

When you look at your numbers, at 15 - 25% growth factor and see how that makes you feel.

Hi Johnny,

Just to add one quick note to the always great tips from Bill (+5 Bill)

For a full E1 (30 B-Channels) you would need  one PVDM2-32 or two PVDM2-16

Cheers!

Rob

So would you use a 7825 for both 250 and 500 users, or 7825 for 250 users and

greater for 500 users?

If I have a 2811 with a PVDM2-16 i need to add only PVDM2-16 for a full PRI or PVDM2-32?

Thanks
