FAC and UC540

Unanswered Question

I understand that you can create FAC (Forced Account Code) feature for the UC520.  Can we do the same for the UC540 and what is the implication with technical support when customer needs help?

Am I right to say that in order to create FAC on the UC500 system, better to order the UC520 instead of the UC540/560, correct?

Dear Gaston;

With regards of your second question - UC 520 vs UC 540. You can use either.

From support point of view TAC is more CLI driven than SBSC (more CCA focused), so for this case you may want to go for the UC 520 version, although SBSC would also support you on UC 540.

Hello Gaston,

Please check this link on how to configure FAC on the UC540, https://cisco-marketing.hosted.jivesoftware.com/thread/7797;jsessionid=C9E574DA7234368DBEE3802DDD9F03ED.node0?tstart=-17 by Steve DiStefano, please before doing any configuration via CLI,  refer to the  OOB  Giude,  so the  configuration done can be recognized and read in by  CCA https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9809

In Steve's post, he describes how you can enable the feature access codes on IP phones (disabled on IP phones until you explicitly enable) that you use on analog phones. All feature access codes, except the Call Park feature access code, are valid only immediately after a phone is taken off-hook.

and in this link http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps7293/prod_models_comparison.html you will find a comparative chart for the  differents UC500 Models, the maximum number of supported phones, other techical information and their service and support model.
