Turbo ACLs

Dear All,

I need to implement Turbo ACL on 2811 router.

I tried to enable it by using access-list compiled command but it is not listing the compiled option under access-list command.

I have checked the Cisco docs and IOC command look-up too.

Current IOS in the router is Version 12.4(15)XZ (C2800NM-IPVOICEK9-M).

Kindly help..

Thanks,

Nitin

Turbo ACLs was an option, default is on, in Pix version 6.3.x but no longer available in version 7.x and 8.x

Hello Nitin,

I see the compiled option on following device:

sh ver | inc image
System image file is "flash:c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.124-7a.bin"

access-list compiled ?
reuse  Reuse tables when compiling (for reduced memory requirements)

it may be a question of feature set. I don't see the option on a C3825 with SP feature set

sh ver | inc image
System image file is "flash:c3825-spservicesk9-mz.124-24.T.bin"

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Thanks Giuseppe,

I think due to voice feature image on the router it is not lisiting the command. i'll make an image upgradation.

I am not able to get the command on PIX/ASA also. Would be appreciated if you please check the same command  availability on PIX/ASA with image release 7.2 or later.

Thanks,

Nitin

Hello Nitin,

I'm not an expert of ASA/PIX but I think that turbo ACL is not supported over these firewalls

see config guide for ASA 7.2

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa72/configuration/guide/traffic.html

I don't see mention of turbo ACL

firewalls need to inspect deeply packets so probably turbo acceleration is not an option

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Turbo ACLs was an option, default is on, in Pix version 6.3.x but no longer available in version 7.x and 8.x

Turbo ACL for ASA 7.x and beyond is enabled by default.

jerry
